Razor 1911 (RZR) merupakan sebuah warez atau demo group. Menurut divisi kejahatan komputer dari United States Department of Justice, Razor 1911 merupakan sindikat pembajak software tertua di internet.

Kelompok ini awalnya didirikan dengan nama Razor 2992 oleh Doctor No, Insane TTM dan Sector9 di Norwegia pada Oktober 1985 sebagai Commodore 64 (komputer 8 bit) software kracking group. Tak lama setelah itu, mereka berubah nama dari 2992 ke 1911 sebagai sindiran kepada kracker lain yang cenderung terlalu sering menggunakan nomor 666, "1911" sendiri dalam heksadesimal di artikan ‘777’.

Antara 1987 dan 1988 kelompok itu mulai beralih dari Commodore 64 dan bermigrasi ke platform hardware baru, coding demo dan ngekrack game untuk Amiga (yang ini commodorenya udah 16 bit). Pada awal 1990-an 1911 Razor melakukan transisi lagi, kali ini ke PC IBM, kebanyakan masih berkutat di dunia kracking, tapi masih nyambi ngerilis demo dan musik.

Razor adalah kelompok yang sangat dominan pada era disket dari tahun 1992 sampai disket ditinggalkan karena dunia komputer mulai beralih ke CD-ROM. Sepanjang tahun 1990-an Razor menghadapi kompetisi dari berbagai kelompok kracking, mulai dari kelompok seperti Tristar & Red Sektor inc. (TRSi), The Dream Team (TDT) dan Fairlight (FLT) pada tahun 1994. Prestise, Hybrid (HBD), dan lain-lain pada tahun 1995. Pada masa ini ‘power’ Razor melemah (karena banyak saingan kali ya), tak berapa lama razor dibangkitkan kembali oleh anggota baru yang diperoleh dari kelompok kracking lain, Nexus. FYI, pada tahun 90an ini razor punya beberapa ketua.

Pada tahun 1995 era disket sudah tergantikan oleh era CD-ROM, dan Razor 1911 pindah haluan sepenuhnya ke CD-ripping. Meskipun bukan orang pertama yang memulai CD-ripping, Razor memiliki banyak keberhasilan dan menjadi salah satu kelompok paling sukses merilis CD Rip di sepanjang tahun 1996. Didominasi Razor tak terbendung sampai Prestige dibentuk. Prestige kemudian merger menjadi CLASS (CLS), yang merupakan kompetitor terkuat Razor pada masa itu.

Ketika mulai munculnya ISO,razor mulai bergerak dan merilis ISO, yang menjadikan mereka ‘standar of the day’ dan kembali berjaya dalam kracking ISO.

Pada tahun 2001, FBI melakukan penggerebegan di seluruh dunia mencari 60 tersangka pembajakan yang paling berpengaruh. Operasi penggerebegan ini dinamakan “ Operation Buccaneer”

* Shane E. Pitman umur 31, dari Conover, North Carolina pemimpin Razor 1911 yang pergi dengan nama samaran "Pitbull", dijatuhi hukuman 18 bulan penjara karena melanggar Undang undang hak cipta ( cetek amat ya 18 bulan doang)

* Sean Michael Breen umur 38, dari Richmond, California, anggota Razor 1911 sejak awal 1990-an mengaku bersalah pada bulan Juli 2003 untuk dua tuduhan pelanggaran hak cipta yang melanggar Judul 17, United States Code, Section 506 (a) dan 18 Judul , United States Code, Section 2319, dan tiga dakwaan penipuan pos yang melanggar Judul 18, United States Code, Section 1341 (pokonya intinya tentang pelanggaran hak cipta aja). Dia di jatuhi hukuman 50 bulan penjara dan tiga tahun pengawasan ketat setelah dibebaskan, si Breen ini juga diperintahkan untuk membayar denda restitusi $ 690,236.91 untuk Cisco Systems. Hukuman 50-bulan been adalah palig lama yang dikenakan kepada 40 orang yang tertangkap dalam operation buckeneer. Dalam sebuah investigasi terpisah oleh agen-agen dari Secret Service Amerika Serikat, Mr Breen juga mengakui bahwa dia telah secara ilegal menggunakan account pelanggan online Cisco Systems untuk memesan ratusan ribu dolar hardware dengan ID palsu yang menyamar sebagai salah satu pelanggan yang sudah ada di Cisco. Setelah menerima hardware, Mr Breen menjualnya di pasar gelap dengan harga diskon besar-besaran.

Segera setelah serangan itu, Razor 1911 menghentikan kegiatannya beberapa saat. Kemudian Mereka merilis Atari Revival: Warlords 3D pada tanggal 1 Mei 2002, 6 bulan setelah penggerebegan dan terus merilis game secara teratur sampai 22 Juni 2004.( salute untuk komitmen membajaknya) hehe. Razor memberikan pernyataan setelah itu tentang operasi bckeneer, mereka bilang para anggota yang tertangkap itu adalah member yang sudah tidak aktif di razor, Razor masih merilis game sedikit sedikit tapi konstan selama bulan-bulan berikutnya.


Pada tanggal 22 Juni 2006, Razor 1911 mulai merilis game dengan lebih aktif lagi. Mereka telah merilis permainan cukup konsisten sejak itu, dan pada tahun 2010 razor merupakan kracker yang paling produktif dibanding dengan kelompok kracker yang lain.

Pada tanggal 23 Juli 1996, Razor 1911 Quake dirilis satu hari setelah rilis resmi dari publisher. Dirilis oleh The Punisher (membernya)

Pada tanggal 14 Oktober 2006, Razor 1911 merilis Battlefield 2142 empat hari sebelum rilis resmi publisher.

Pada tahun 2007, Razor 1911 adalah kelompok pertama yang berhasil krack game Windows Vista-only, ShadowRun, untuk dijalankan pada Windows XP. Mereka melakukan ini karena menganggap bahwa Microsoft berusaha untuk merilis games paling baru untuk vista hanya untuk meningkatkan penjualan sistem operasi mereka.

Pada tanggal 11 November 2007, Razor 1911 merilis Crysis versi Eropa lima hari sebelum tanggal peluncuran resmi.

Pada tanggal 7 Desember, 2008 Razor 1911 merilis Grand Theft Auto IV lima hari setelah rilis remi. Dalam proses itu mereka berhasil ngekrack perlindungan SecuRom. Meskipun ada beberapa gangguan fungsi , tapi akhirnya tetep aja kelompok itu mampu memberikan solusi working krack.

Pada tanggal 28 Mei 2009, Razor 1911 merilis The Sims 3, dua minggu sebelum rilis resmi. Meskipun ada eror tapi kemudian razor memperbaikinya (fixed realese).

Pada tanggal 10 Nopember 2009, Razor 1911 merupakan pembajak pertama yang ngerilis Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 dengan krack yg fix untuk PC. Meskipun mereka memiliki pengalaman yang sangat sedikit tentang steam game tetep aja berhasil. Beberapa jam kemudian SKiDROW merilis versi non steam nya.(wuih ga mau kalah ya?)

Pada tanggal 20 November 2009, Razor 1911 adalah yang pertama yg merilis Left 4 Dead 2.

Classes:

The Assault Class will be carrying a medic kit and will also be able to revive fallen teammates on the Battlefield with a defib kit.

The Support class can throw out ammunition as well as using an LMG to fight his way through hordes of enemies. The LMG is equipped with a bi-pod that you can fold out when you prone to give you that extra accuracy. Also, if you lay down some of that heavy suppressive fire on an enemy, you could also score some extra points as you’ll blur the enemies vision.

The engineer class is equipped with a submachine-gun with a flashlight that can actually be used to blind people thanks to the great tech provided by the Frostbite 2 engine. This is especially useful in the Operation Metro map due to the narrow spaces and darker areas of the map. The class also comes with a welding tool to repair friendly vehicles as well as an RPG to destroy enemy vehicles.

The Recon class has a semi-automatic sniper rifle and is also equipped with some powerful C4. Those C4 explosions can cause destruction – a Battlefield favorite – anytime, anywhere.
