Kini I Jayaprana baru berusia duabelas tahun. Ia sangat ganteng paras muka tampan dan senyumnya pun sangat manis menarik.
Beberapa tahun kemudian.
I Jayaprana dititahkan membawa sepucuk surat ke rumahnya Jero Bendesa. Jero Bendesa sangat setuju apabila putrinya yaitu Ni Layonsari dikawinkan dengan I Jayaprana. Setelah ia menyampaikan isi hatinya “setuju” kepada I Jayaprana, lalu I Jayaprana memohon diri pulang kembali.
Di istana Raja sedang mengadakan sidang di pendopo. Tiba-tiba datanglah I Jayaprana menghadap pesanan Jero Bendesa kehadapan Sri Baginda Raja.
Kemudian datanglah rombongan I Jayaprana di depan istana.
Sekarang tersebutlah I Jayaprana yang sangat brebahagia hidupnya bersama istrinya. Tetapi baru tujuh hari lamanya mereka berbulan madu, datanglah seorang utusan raja ke rumahnya, yang maksudnya memanggil I Jayaprana supaya menghadap ke paseban. I Jayaprana segera pergi ke paseban menghadap Sri P aduka Raja bersama perbekel sekalian.
Ia meminta agar keberangkatannya besok dibatalkan berdasarkan alamat-alamat impiannya. Tetapi I Jayaprana tidak berani menolak perintah raja. I Jayaprana sudah meras dirinya akan dibinasakan kemudian I Saunggaling berkata kepada I Jayaprana sambil menyerahkan sepucuk surat. I Jayaprana menerima surat itu terus langsung dibaca dalam hati isinya:
“ Hai engkau Jayaprana
Manusia tiada berguna
Berjalan berjalanlah engkau
Akulah menyuruh membunuh kau
Dosamu sangat besar
Kau melampaui tingkah raja
Istrimu sungguh milik orang besar
Kuambil kujadikan istri raja
Serahkanlah jiwamu sekarang
Jangan engkau melawan
Layonsari jangan kau kenang
Kuperistri hingga akhir jaman.”
Demikianlah isi surat Sri Baginda Raja kepada I Jayaprana. Setelah I Jayaprana membaca surat itu lalu ia pun menangis tersedu-sedu sambil meratap. Hamba rela dibunuh demi kepentingan baginda, meski pun hamba tiada berdosa. Demikian ratapnya I Jayaprana seraya mencucurkan air mata. Selanjutnya I Jayaprana meminta kepada I Saunggaling supaya segera bersiap-siap menikamnya.

Jayaprana was chocked and became very sad that the King, his father, who hadbeen very kind to him all his life, would do such a thing. Jayaprana would giveanything to his father, the King… anything but his wife.
Jayaprana had promised to obey all order from the king and would honour hisword. Jayaprana could easily have killed Patih Sawung Galing and then the King…“but for what?” - He thought.
Jayaprana was devastated and felt he had nothing in his life except his dearloving wife, but, to fulfil his promise to his father, the King, he decided tolet Patih Sawung Galing kill him. Jayaprana had flowers in his hair and hepicked them one by one and placed them in the hands of Patih Sawung Galing. Healso gave him his Keris so that he could use it to kill him. He asked PatihSawung Galing to tell his wife, Layonsari, that he died in order to fulfil hispromise to the King. The tears of Patih Sawung Galing fell as he took theflowers and Keris. He could easily kill Jayaprana with one hit and did justthat.
All of a sudden a fragrant scent from Jayapranas dead body began to spread. Itcontinued to spread and cover the whole forest making all animals scream withsadness. All but one; a white tiger. The white tiger rushed to Jayapranas deadbody to find Patih Sawung Galing holding his bloody Keris and killed him in onefierce blow.
The news spread throughout the Kingdom and Layonsari chose to commit suicideafter knowing that the king’s misdeeds had resulted in the death of herhusband, Jayaprana. Not long after her committing suicide a fragrant scentbegan to spread throughout the palace.
The fragrant scent was a sign that they were pure in mind without any sins.
As both Jayaprana and Layonsari were dead the king managed to break out fromhis illusionary state and realized what he had done. The King withdrew himselffrom reining the Kingdom.
The people of the Kingdom decided to bring the body of Layonsari to the forestwhere Jayaprana was killed to unite them in death and two graves were built. One grave for Jayaprana and Layonsari and another grave for Patih Sawung Galingwho was the man destined to guard the graves forever.
After a complete ceremony Jayaprana and Layonsari were stated as holy people.
